Reflections on Oregon.
Or more precisely Southern Oregon.
We live in a beautiful State.
Roughly 100 miles North-East of us is Crater Lake.

It was formed when this former volcano, “which collapsed on itself during an eruption just 7,700 years ago and slowly filled with melted snow, now stands as Oregon’s only national park.”
At over 2,000 feet deep it is the deepest lake in the United States of America.
There is a website, 16 Reasons Why Oregon is the Best State in the Country, and Jean and I believe it. Do visit this web page.

As was said at the start, Jean and I live in a very beautiful part of America.
Plus the people are incredibly friendly.

You have no idea how much I miss Oregon. I am not a fan of high desert but here I am, making the best of it. After living and traveling most of this country, Oregon was the place I most wanted to live. I got a few years, at least.

I’m certain that I have said this before but it was purely chance that Jean and I, and our dogs, came to Southern Oregon in 2012. We were shown this property that had been empty for at least five years and owned subsequently by a bank. We made the decision to make an offer to the bank very quickly and that was that!

It’s a beautiful part of the country. How is Jean doing? I think about her often. Hoping you are both doing well.

Thank you, Marlene, for your reply and for thinking about Jean most often. We are pretty good. My memory overall is poor but as the surgeon said when I had my sub-dural bleedings I was lucky to be alive. Jean has a much better memory however her Parkinson’s is gradually getting worse. I go biking a lot as well.
Many times every day I look out to the East and upon Sexton Mountain and marvel at the vista. It’s perfect!

I’ll keep checking in with you as long as I can. Still passing expectations myself.
