A novel Nursing Home plan.
Sent to me by dear friend, Dan Gomez, as a light-hearted diversion for the weekend. (But it did fit rather nicely as a sequel to my Lies, Damn Lies, and … from yesterday!)

Say you are an older senior citizen and can no longer take care of yourself and the government says there is no Nursing Home care available for you. So, what do you do? You opt for Medicare Part G.
The plan gives anyone 75 or older a gun (Part G) and one bullet. You are allowed to shoot one worthless politician.
This means you will be sent to prison for the rest of your life where you will receive three meals a day, a roof over your head, central heating and air conditioning, cable TV, a library, and all the Health Care you need. Need new teeth? No problem. Need glasses? That’s great. Need a hearing aid, new hip, knees, kidney, lungs, sex change, or heart? They are all covered!
As an added bonus, your kids can come and visit you at least as often as they do now! And who will be paying for all of this? The same government that just told you they can’t afford for you to go into a nursing home. And you will get rid of a useless politician while you are at it. And now, because you are a prisoner, you don’t have to pay any more income taxes!
Is this a great country or what? Now that you have solved your senior financial plan, enjoy the rest of your week!

I’ll leave the closing words to Dan: “Crazy world but compelling plan.”
Have a great weekend wherever you are.
Yes, but what if the Buddhists are right and there is an afterlife with a karmic inheritance?

Hariod, I shall defer to others on this question! 😉 Lovely to have it raised by you.

Well, I was just extending the spirit of the thought experiment Paul. 🙂

I don’t want someone killing someone, even tho’ many politicians are in favor of killing babies in the name of “Choice.” Voters seem to be too ignorant, selfish, or plain stupid to vote wisely enough to keep this country great, and I wonder if its too late. We have lost our Judeo-Christian heritage to atheists and Muslims who want to take over this country.
We ought to have a ‘Million Believers’ march on the gov’t and take turns praying that these evil people leave the gov’t to those who have a sense of responsibility to God and mankind, and others could shout, “Shame on you! Shame on you!” to Obama and his cohorts.

Marcia, what a wonderfully, powerful reply from you. Two responses come to my mind; one personal and one more broad.
My personal response is that I am an atheist, and so is Jean, my wife. Whatever one’s religious leanings, that doesn’t obviate each and every person to work out for themselves what is best for humanity and this planet and be true to their conclusion. Far too many murders have been committed over the centuries under the names of a variety of gods.
Taking on the broader question of Governments in general, representative democracy has been failing peoples for a long time. We have the technological means to implement direct democracy in which, when it comes to the important things in life (admittedly, a challenging journey to define “important”) each and every one of us can vote directly. It is going to come.
Once again, thank you for replying, Paul.
