I am reminded of the saying, and I may not have it accurately set out, that democratic parliament is the least worst of all forms of government. I hope you are able to watch the video interview in tomorrow’s post because in a way it is about the way that our leaders, right across the world, are whistling while Rome burns!

Yes, I agree that democracy is the least worst. Unfortunately, the system we have isn’t ‘democracy’, because those with the money have a greater say than anyone else — and we badly need to correct that.
But… our ‘leaders’ are ‘whistling’? Perhaps so… all the way to the bank. But I’d say ‘fiddling’. Or, perhaps more accurately, ‘dithering’.
