A ‘new’ home.

For the last two days we have had some major tree work done.

A couple of weeks ago, our neighbour Clarence came across to our land to point out a dying pine. It was alongside the house together with two other trees, another pine and a fir. The pines were over a hundred feet tall.

They had to come down reasonably quickly otherwise they would crash into the roof with terrible consequences.

Clarence recommended a company, August Hunicke Arborists Inc., and August came round to give us an estimate.

And on Tuesday and Wednesday they came to do the job. They had a great deal of equipment plus lots of experience. They were four of them. And the two pines were very far gone.

At the end of the project I took two photographs and here they are:

It was not cheap but they did an excellent job.

  1. The people who take down trees are amazing, aren’t they? We’ve had two trees taken down by two different companies. The first company took FOREVER!! An all-day job. One man slowly hacking away at the tree with one saw. The second tree (just as large and tall) only took 30 minutes. Several guys with bobcats, saws, and a grinder swooped down on the tree and neatly disposed of it ASAP. The crazy thing is the fast company charged less than the company that took all day. I learned my lesson!! 🤣

    1. This crew were fantastic. August took a load of videos during the two-day job and soon I will get them on LfD. I sat out for most of the time just watching and just blown away by their professionalism. And thank you for your comment!

  3. Wonderful that you have a good neighbour with a good recommendation … I know tree felling is not cheap… Proper Tree surgeons here in England, are far from cheap.. But much better than having no roof when the weather get rough…

    1. My dear Sue, you are spot on. Clarence spent a great deal of the two days on our land just watching because it was such a demanding task for the four people that are in the two photos I took.

      1. I know from watching a neighbour having her tree trimmed back. My heart was in my mouth watching the team working . They are professional in their work. Xx
