Picture Parade Four Hundred and Eighty-Four

Back to dogs and back to Unsplash!

Seeing how many approved of the photos of Pharaoh, it seemed to me that I should provide photos of German Shepherd dogs; there are plenty of them.

But before that many congratulations to the new King of the United Kingdom, King Charles III, or as Wikipedia put it:

The coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms took place on 6 May 2023, at Westminster Abbey. Charles acceded to the throne on 8 September 2022, upon the death of his mother, Elizabeth II.

Now to the dogs!

  1. Lovely images and likely more beloved than the new ‘queen.’ It should be interesting to see how the monarchy proceeds in the future. Am I wrong in thinking there may be some who’d just as soon like to see it go away. Especially in a struggling economy while hosting a $125 million party? The optics couldn’t have been worse.

    1. $125 million! Is that what the Coronation cost? I’m afraid I am rather biased towards King Charles. For many years I was a counselor with the Prince’s Youth Business Trust (PYBT), indeed until I left England in 2008, together with my good friend, Richard Maugham. Richard and I had the pleasure in meeting Prince Charles at an exhibition of PYBT goods and artifacts, the Prince founded the PYBT and was a keen proponent of his charity. I guess it is difficult to judge whether, overall, the Coronation was good or bad for the country.

      1. I have no issue with the new King (he’s done much good for the commonwealth but Camilla is not nearly endearing especially when Princess Diana was so popular and beloved by the masses.

  2. Those are beautiful German Shepherd photos. The darker one, third from bottom, looks like the one we used to have. Her name was Baby and she was the stand-in mom for our Leonberger Bronco. She took that job upon herself, protected him, played with him, and guarded him from all threats.

    1. Presumably, that is the Shepherd looking straight at the camera? Baby must have been very smart, Thomas, to act as ‘Mum’ for your Leonberger; generally speaking GSDs are a very smart breed.

  3. Fantastic post, thank you for giving us a chance to celebrate the new King of the United Kingdom and for sharing these beautiful dogs pictures. Your combination of royalty and canines is a great idea. The German Shepherds are so photogenic! Pharaoh is also a cutie, I’m glad he got to end the post. Thanks for the great content.

    1. You are so right, Doggycrush, German Shepherds are really photogenic. But I guess so are many other dog breeds. But we are biased! 😉 Anyway, thanks for your delightful response.
