It is not something I have done before.
This is a blog about dogs in the main and many different subjects as well. For example, I am very interested in the formation of the planet; see the post coming up soon.
However, my good buddy, Dan Gomez, a Californian, sent me a link to an interview, and I quote “After the Israel-Hamas deal was signed earlier this month, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, President Trump’s envoys and the leading brokers of the agreement, sat down with Lesley Stahl to discuss their unconventional deal-driven approach.”
It is a 60 Minutes interview.
I found it most interesting and completely at odds with the majority of all types of media that think that President Trump is despicable.
My view of politicians of democracies is that 99% of them are talkers. Presumably, Trump is a doer.
I would be interested to hear what others think, especially those who were born in the U.S.A.
Very interesting, thanks for finding this, Paul. I am nearly baffled that they made that work. it seems real. A much better approach than anything tried before…

There was huge immigration in the USA during the last 50 years. Not so long ago, the USA was 200 million, now it’s 350 million (including illegals). This is a world country made of immigrants. Differently from Europe, the proportion of these immigrants who are Muslims and low status where they come from, is neglectable. US immigrants or immediate descendants therefrom, tend to be US loving and qualified, whereas in Europe an alarming number of immigrants and early generations, have been primed to hate Europe (greatly mythically malevolent “colonialism”) and are without skills (while US immigrants tend to be skilled).
So immigration works much better in the USA than in Europe, and the gigantic flux has been well controlled… And highly beneficial to the US way of life and overall supremacy.
“Born in the USA…” is a song by Bruce Springsteen, highly critical of the USA… That was before Bruce embarked on the “”Democratic”” bandwagon and gravy train… And Bruce became a fanatic great priest of the US government… But sad sad sad, Trump stole the gravy train! From “”Democrat”” to Demon Crap, in an instant, and that may be forever, as people who voted massively for Obama now massively voted for Trump, even though the worst horrors had been told about him… Including being an agent of Putin… Whereas, objectively speaking, it’s historical “”Democratic”” grandees who have a pro-Putin record. Instead Trump sent anti-tank weapons, Javellins, to Ukraine, inciting Britain and France to also send weapons… Here is Bruce:
Born down in a dead man’s town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that’s been beat too much
‘Til you spend half your life just coverin’ up
Born in the U.S.A
I was born in the U.S.A…
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man…
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man says, “Son if it was up to me”
Went down to see my V.A. man
I had a brother at Khe Sanh
Fighting off the Viet Cong
They’re still there, he’s all gone
He had a woman he loved in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now
Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I’m ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run ain’t got nowhere to go….
So, what’s the big picture? Trump is a change of gravy trains’ conductor, but Trump is authentic: when Trump ran as a Democrat, for the presidency in the 1980s, he reproached Reagan and O’Neil (Democrat House Speaker who passed the Republican Reagan’s legislation; both considered themselves Irish…)… the exact same policies he condemned all along, and he was right: one can’t make and purchase everything overseas, be it only because one ends up with National Defense under the control of the enemy…
In Europe, the most “woke” country, France, is the most sunk. French industry used to be, 50 years ago, more than 20% of GDP. Now it may be as low as 7%… Interestingly less woke Germany and Italy have kept their industry at 20% GDP… Treacherously, many European politicians and even more in France, made secret accords which de facto empowered Putin, who became the “homme a tout faire” of Europe… As Russia and China got empowered, Europe got de-powered. Same in the USA, But there was a reaction, even under Obama (financing of Tesla and SpaceX… And lavish financing of universities for research…). Now under Trump the USA is forging ahead in such a righteous fashion that China, and even India, Brazil, etc. try to duplicate it…
As the movie “House of Dynamite” shows, nuclear arsenals ready to go are the number one problem. Everything else is minor in comparison…

This is fascinating. I had no idea that immigration into the USA was very different to immigration into Europe.
Jean and I will watch that film, House of Dynamite, as soon as we can.
