Learning from Dogs 
This is a great clip š
I don’t know dogs. I do know it’s possible to train them. Is there any way to know whether this one knows that the ‘trick’ it’s performing here is a real benefit to its, um, owners? If not: it would sadden me to think that it’s feeling in any way uncomfortable doing what it’s doing.
(What I’m trying to get at is: where does one draw the line between ‘trusted, loyal friend’ and ‘slave’? … perhaps a bit too deep.)

I suspect for every dog-human relationship there is difference in how it works. Ergo, if that dog lives in a caring, sensitive home then it will sense the emotional gain. There are countless examples of dogs reading our human emotions. Lovely to have your reflection.
