Dogs and flying.

Anyone who has owned a dog will know that there is something very special about the relationship between a dog and humans.  Dogs have the ability to provide the purest form of unconditional friendship and for us complicated humans this closeness is so precious.   I mean who would have thought ……

…. of doing this with a gold-fish!

Dog’s name is Maia, by the way.

Maia posing on the ground with her ‘mutt-muffs’, making sure that other dogs know she’s a ‘flying dog’.

Thanks for the pics (to whom the images belong) to Ian Seager of Seager Publishing.  Maia says that Ian is a reasonably good chauffeur. 😉

Finally, a different dog and a different aircraft.

  1. Ambiguity, the hallmark of all great art. I’m sure Ian will be wondering whether he’s meant to be a reasonable and good chauffeur or a reasonably good chauffeur.
Nice picture of Pharaoh in the Cub. Taken in UK or Sonora?

    1. Well spotted, Fred! Now corrected. Cub picture taken in the UK at Watchford Farm strip in Devon (that’s the SW of England). When I left the UK, Pharaoh came with me, courtesy of Virgin Atlantic Airways, LHR-LAX, but, sadly, the Cub stayed behind.

    1. South Devon is a beautiful area with the moors and the sea nearby. Came here from the village of Harberton, see http://www.harbertondevon.co.uk/.
Sonora is a very large State. Believe there is some GA activity at Hermosillo and at Guaymas but waiting, from a personal point of view, until settled in the US before getting back into flying. Believe that the Mexicans require a rabies certificate, as does the US border at Nogales. But never been asked to show any documents either way. What’s your story? 😉

    1. Pharaoh came in via LAX, requiring a ‘fit to travel’ and rabies certificates. One look at the dog in the car by the Mexican customs officer had us waved through instantly. Pharaoh does love to smile to those that approach the car with a full set of teeth!
Didn’t realise you were an old Flyer hand. For some reason thought you might be US based.
My partner will have US Citizenship in a few weeks then it’s a matter of selling this place here. That could take some time!

  2. I hope for your sake selling your place isn’t as traumatic as it can be here in the UK (lengthy chains and all that). If it is you may do well to remember this Thought of the Day from Brahma Kumaris: “Anger spoils the beauty of the soul, silence retains it.”
Never heard of Brahma Kumaris who according to Wikipedia are monotheistic in their doctrine. Judaeo/Christian influence I wonder?
