No Comment, Mr. President?

The deafening sound of silence

Thugs from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and Chicago’s National Political Action trespassed on a Bank of America Executive’s front lawn in a so-called “protest” over mortgage defaults.

SEIU Protests on private citizen's front lawn

This same group went after AIG executives in March of last year (see video).  I commented on local television and to anyone who would listen then how misdirected their anger was, and I repeat that sentiment now.

Where is the President’s outrage at these mob tactics against a private U.S. citizen?  I can only assume his silence is tacit approval. The recently-resigned President of SEIU, Andy Stern, is reportedly Obama’s most frequent visitor at the White House, after all. And Obama has made it abundantly clear that he has no respect for private industry and free enterprise.

  1. Honestly I don’t care. The only people that seem to keep complaining about this BofA CEO protest are the very same people who seem to think it is OK to carry guns to a political rally and blow up abortion clinics. Enough said.

    1. Are you serious? I hope not. I really hope you are just being flip…but, if you are being serious, then let me assure you that you are very wrong. Take me, for example: I think the attack on private citizens is very troubling, as is President Obama’s penchant for pitting American against American, but I certainly do not approve of blowing up abortion clinics!

      1. I am flip, but I am also quite serious. Yes, these people did trespass (on the porch & lawn) and they should not have done that and remained on the street. My point is that this protest PALES in comparison to the death threats and actual murders and bombings of those that have been subject to right-wing terrorism for a long time. I find that many who are in such an uproar about this banking executive protest are the very same folks who hailed Scott Roder (killer of abortion doctor Dr. Tiller) and Joe Stack (IRS plane building destroyer) national HEROs for their DEADLY “protest” actions. I find these people and their logic wacked. They act as though it is perfectly fine to bring a gun to a Tea Party rally, but reprehensible to step on a private porch with a bullhorn? Neither is right, but I will take a bullhorn over guns and bombs any day.

  2. Attack on private citizens with flying robots manned from the other side of the planet by non uniformed, non military personnel, that troubles me: it’s a war crime, and it’s counter-productive. Just as the fact that the derivatives thugs have not been indicted yet worries me. That too is counter-productive.

AIG executives (or is that executors?) cost the American citizens (many without lawns), 180 billion dollars. So average Americans paid for that lawn with the sweat of their brow. They can sit on it all they want. If they don’t have jobs, it’s because the crazed financiers have sent trillions of dollars to their derivative universe instead of the real economy.

When Obama said he was the only thing between the banksters and the pitchforks, he was right. Enough said.
