Climate warming debate

Is man causing the climate to change?

Learning from Dogs has been extremely fortunate to have two scientists contribute to the Blog, each with a very different view as to whether the climate is warming as a direct result of the activities of mankind.  As these Posts are now quite widely separated in terms of the publication date, it seemed useful to use this page as an index to the individual Posts.

These contributions are a wonderful way of those of us who don’t really understand the scientific arguments to form an opinion based on good scientific debate.

The Posts should be read in the order of this List.

  1. The original Post that picked up on some news that climate warming may be suspect.
  2. Patrice Ayme argues strongly that climate warming, as result of man’s activities, is real.
  3. The original full-length paper published by Carlin, arguing against CO2 warming, is reproduced on the Blog.
  4. Then we carry the response by Parice Ayme to the Alan Carlin paper.
  5. That in turn was responded to by Alan Carlin on the 5th November
  6. Then I posted an ‘editorial’ view, so to speak, based on the work by Peter L Bernstein.
  7. A Post about Copenhagen again demonstrated opposing views but a cautionary recommendation.
  8. Then a further Post asking why population seems to be the unspoken issue.
  9. Greg Craven using social media to offer a very simple way of managing the risks of climate change.

Please add your comments, either after the individual Posts or here.  The more people that read these views and debate the issue the better we will be informed.  Politicians and much of the news media are not good sources of education!
