Apologies for the absence over the last two days!
Dear friends,
Yesterday, I attended a Naturalisation Test at Portland at 08:25!
I passed. What I wasn’t expecting was to be offered a Swearing In Ceremony at 13:30 the same day.
Clearly it made sense to stay on for that!
So that’s it!
I am now a Naturalised Citizen of the United States of America!
Congrats!!!👍😊

Thanks John! And, yes, I did want this very much so. Not only because if I didn’t do it now I would have become too forgetful to do it in the future!

At the Swearing In ceremony there were 56 countries represented including a couple from Russia. I was the only Brit. That’s super about your mother. Give her a hug from me!

And just by chance, I have just come across this wonderful story about an Alaskan Timber Wolf that truly gives credence to the American spirit.

That’s quite the undertaking. I’m a naturalized citizen but didn’t have a test at the age of 5. 😉 My mother had to take the test. I’d bet most of us couldn’t pass it now. Congratulations.
