As reported on the BBC,
5 December 2012A charity in New Zealand is teaching rescued dogs how to drive a car.
The canine driving school is aimed at proving how intelligent the animals can be.
Monty the giant schnauzer is among the novice drivers who have learned to control the brakes, gears and steering wheel.
Bill Hayton reports.
Prepare to be amazed!
Oh my word – I am truly amazed and I love that they are going to all this trouble to encourage adoption. This one is definitely worth a reblog on my site.

Thanks Susan. What is especially wonderful is the reminder that dogs, and cats, that end up in rescue centres are rarely there unless somewhere along the line a human has let them down. Paul

GENIUS concept! I bet all those dogs are better drivers than most humans — and why not, they make better friends than most humans, right? 🙂
