Harvest moon

There’s always much more to people than meets the eye!

I can’t recall at what point in the life of Learning from Dogs that Per Kurowski popped up over the parapet but it was pretty early on.  Per has been a great supporter of my varied efforts to promote the way that dogs are a wonderful example of integrity, trust and openness.

Anyway, Per comes from a background that one might not associate with the rest of this article.  Per used to be a director at the World Bank.  One of his Blogs includes this:

I warned many about the coming crisis, long before it happened, on many occasions and in many places, even at the World Bank. They did not want to listen and that´s ok, it usually happens, but what is not ok, is that they still do not seem to want to hear it. “We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.” (Plato: 427 BC – 347 BC)

Just a couple of days ago, I posted about the moon that passed closer to the Earth on the 19th than for the last 20 years.  Per added a comment to that Post, “And this is a homemade version of the beautiful Harvest Moon song by Neil Young” With this link.  At that link you can watch and listen to Per singing ‘Harvest Moon’ recorded by Neil Young.  Enjoy.

Here was that moon, as seen from Payson in Arizona with some cloud in the sky!

That moon!

Finally, for those interested in the lyrics, here they are.

Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin’
We could dream this night away.

But there’s a full moon risin’
Let’s go dancin’ in the light
We know where the music’s playin’
Let’s go out and feel the night.

Because I’m still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I’m still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.

But now it’s gettin’ late
And the moon is climbin’ high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin’ in your eye.

Because I’m still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I’m still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin’
We could dream this night away

But there’s a full moon risin’
Let’s go dancin’ in the light
We know where the music’s playin’
Let’s go out and feel the night

Because I’m still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I’m still in love with you
On this harvest moon

When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart

But now it’s gettin’ late
And the moon is climbin’ high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin’ in your eye

Because I’m still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I’m still in love with you
On this harvest moon

I have supported many posts on the blog but not because of the dogs mind you.

I have never owned a dog and when I was about eleven I got bitten by a dog while running on a street of my hometown San Cristobal and had to spend the whole day with a huge needle in my leg, getting injected some cc every now, swelling up… and then waiting in anguish for about a week to see if the dog had rabies, which fortunately it had not. Since then I often get terror stricken by dogs, which they can smell, and which puts me in a quite uncomfortable position… and neither have I been the same runner I used to be… at eleven

Today by the way, for the not so young ones, it is time for That´s Amore!

  2. This Moon will I think Herald in many changes Paul… And the Banks! well…. Now…. they too are in for Change too.. and like your friend Per Kurowski is saying they are not paying heed,.. I see a Crash of sorts.. And even the Bankers will not be able to bail themselves out and give themselves Huge Bonus’s of Tax payers money while creaming off the profits anymore.

Sorry Mr Per Kurowski… No disrespect here, But you have to ask yourself Why is it Directors of Huge Banks are getting Millions When Taxpayers bailed them out of the MESS they Got us into.. Bankrupting almost several countries..

The Monetary System I feel will collapse for it cannot continue the way its heading.. printing more money is not the answer..
But then Im only an ordinary woman who went to Secondary School.. But My Sixth sense is telling me that This World CANNOT continue in its present Money Grabbing Greedy Materialistic form.. It has to change.
Just look at the Dates when this Moon drew close to the Earth in the past.. I feel in the late 20’s we had the Wall St Crash!.. Change is on the horizon for many.. and its escalating very fast now..

    1. First… just in case… having been an Executive Director of the World Bank does not make me a recipient of bonuses, of any amount… which could in fact have come in handy now to someone like me who have not been back in my homeland for almost a decade now… because of what´s happening there (Venezuela)

But back to the issue, the real problem with the huge bonuses is more that they are the results of the huge profits that banks have been able to make… thanks to silly regulators who allowed banks for instance leverage their capital over 60 times when lending to those able to scramble up a triple-A rating.

      1. Like I said, No Disrespect intended, and I agree Per the regulations are more than silly when you see what is happening in the World Economy.. and although we live in a Materialistic world, for that is what we came to experience where we need money to buy our everyday needs.. I see a time when Money will be the least of ALL our worries.. Wishing you a wonderful Spring Day.. Where by we give thanks for all the Blessings we have in it.. ~ Dreamwalker~
