Who didn’t enjoy playing with model trains!

So try this for size!

The official video about Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg, the largest model railway in the world, and one of the most successful tourist attractions in Germany. On the 1.300 m² large layout, far more than a thousand trains, aircrafts, cars and ships move about. A wonder of the world in miniature. Please, find more information here.

  1. Wow. This reminds me of my dad’s train set he used to have in the basement. He went all out, taking up the entire room, elevated so he could play with it at the perfect height for him. (He is 6’2) Actually, this made me a little nostalgic. :)

    • Dear Kate, thanks for calling by and leaving your comment. Although I do hope your nostalgia didn’t take you into sad places. Of course, I could debase my reply by offering you the thought that nostalgia isn’t what it used to be! ;-)

    • My pleasure – I can’t recall where I came across it but it seemed appropriate for my week-ends away from SERIOUS stuff!

      • We’ve bought the large cat carrier and Millie (cat) is off to the vet for her final paperwork to be done on October 10th. We’re getting nervous now about the journey!

  3. Wow, just loved this Paul! Two memories that come to mind. The first – Disneyland in Calif and touring “It’s a Big Beautiful Tomorrow” when I was still a teenager! And secondly, Frank Sinatra’s train display at his home in Rancho Mirage, which I was privileged to see! This totally blows my mind! I would travel from the USA to see this!

    Merci
