Learning from Dogs

Dogs are integrous animals. We have much to learn from them.

Are we as clever as we think?

This has been circulating on the Internet, but you may not have seen it …..

Indian Chief ‘Two Eagles’ was asked by a white U.S.  government official, ‘You have observed the white man for 90 years.  You’ve seen his wars and his technological advances. You’ve seen his progress, and the damage he’s done.’ The  Chief nodded in agreement.

The official continued, ‘Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?’

The Chief stared at the government official for over a minute and then calmly replied, ‘When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water.  Women did all the work, Medicine man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex. Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.’

  1. Of course there had to be sex! I notice the comment was very gender specific I wonder if Indian Woman and White Woman would agree with this philosophy.

  2. Hi Gloria

Yes, the joke is a bit non PC. There was clearly room in Indian society for improvement. They would no doubt one day have gotten around to sending the women out to hunt buffalo, climb craggy cliffs in search of eagle eggs and/or scalp the heads of enemy tribes.

Of course, the best thing would have been to give everyone a CHOICE as to whether they wanted to stay at home and be domestic or go out and be brave ….

OR of course they could always have chosen THE BEST individuals for particular jobs …..

As we buggared up their way of life we’ll never know how they might have evolved.

Still, it could have been worse …. the French might have got there before us …..
