Learning from Dogs

Dogs are integrous animals. We have much to learn from them.

Postscript to Luna, the wolf.

The story of Luna has some interesting connections.

The person taking the picture in the Post about Tim Woods was Willie Prescott.  He just happens to be the grandson of William H. Prescott from whom the town of Prescott is named.  Here’s that picture again.

The gray wolf or wolf is known as Canis lupus. The domestic dog is Canis lupus familiaris. They share a common ancestry.

Regular readers will know that in our home one of the dogs is a German Shepherd dog, a male called Pharaoh who flew out with me from England a year ago.  Frequently, sitting close to Pharaoh one has pondered about the day many thousands of moons ago when a wolf would have come out of his pack environment and taken up residence with man.

Who knows how that happened but the story of Luna and Tim surely must be an example of what did happen all that time ago.
